Kanaye's Crochet

             Seven Square
This pattern is made up of sevens. When it is finished,
it should equal seven inches both horizontally and vertically.

Two extra stitches on each side give it a small border to be easier to connect it to the next square.

I used:
Size 5.50 crochet hook.
Simply Soft Blue Mint yarn.

Abbrevations:
Ch = chain * DC = double crochet * St(s) = stitch(es)

Ch 25.

First Row:
DC in third stitch from hook. DC in next 8 sts. * Ch1, skip 1 st, dc in next st * three times for 3 holes. DC in next 8 stitches. Ch 3. Turn.

When you've reached the end, you should have 9 solid stitches, 3 holes, 9 solid stitches.

Row 2:
Skip the first DC. Repeat the previous row, 9 solid, 3 holes, 9 solid.

Row 3:
Repeat the previous row.

Row 4.
Skip first DC. DC in next 2 st. * Ch1, skip 1, DC in next stitch * three times. ** DC 1, through the hole, not the ch 1. DC next stitch. ** Two more times. * Ch1, skip 1, DC in next stitch * three times. DC 3. Ch 3, turn.

You should now have, 3 solid, 3 holes, 7 solid, 3 holes, 3 solid.

Row 5:
Skip the first DC. Repeat the previous row.

Row 6.
Repeat the previous row.

Row 7:
Repeat Row 2.

Row 8:
Repeat Row 2.

Row 9.
Repeat Row 2.

Row 10:
Repeat row 4.

Row 11:
Repeat Row 4.

Row 12:
Repeat Row 4, chaining 1, instead of three. Pull the hook forward to bring up some extra yarn and then cut the loop, leaving enough yarn to weave in later.
